Industry analysis of construction-related trade 2017

The survey comprises the quarterly presentation of the economic and business cycle situation and development of ten industries of the Austrian construction-related trade: stonemasonry, roof covering, glazing, tinsmith, pottery, painting, carpentry, building completion, timber construction and floor covering. The business cycle indicators are turnover and price development, investments, insolvencies, unemployment figures, order situation and work to capacity, assessment of the business situation, order expectations and human resources planning.

Situation, development and perspectives of the Austrian crafts and trades sector

The project develops scenarios and models regarding perspectives of the Austrian trades and crafts sector and recommendations for stakeholders deriving economic and social policies. The basis are the categorisation of the sections according to the development trends during the last 10 years and analyses of the recent situation based on the categories.

Cleaning sector in Austria

The cleaning sector is characterised by a few peculiarities regarding competition, bureaucratic costs etc. while significantly contributing to the Austrian economy. Based on the analysis of secondary statistics and interviews with experts, the sector’s status and characteristics will be explored. Following that, the relevance of the services provided will be elaborated and all information obtained will be deepened by use of an online survey among companies in the sector.

Administrative burdens index for trades and crafts in Lower Austria

The study aims at identification and quantification of administrative burdens: Which are the recurring legal obligations that are regarded as burdens by the entrepreneurs in the trades and craft sector in Lower Austria? What is the time requirement the enterprises expect for the obligations and what are the costs? Based on these data an “administrative burdens index” will be calculated to show the development over time.

Production site Lower Austria – the future of the production industries

This study analyses Lower Austria as a location for industry and quantifies the regional manufacturing sector. An analysis of current trends serves to develop a referential framework for the “future of manufacturing”. The various analyses allow for the identification of location-specific strengths and problems as well as possible future fields of intervention. These have then been discussed in workshops with regional stakeholders.
