The Austrian Institute for SME Research and the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) conduct a monthly survey on the business situation in the Austrian retail sector, the results of which are also included in the European Union Business Survey (DG ECFIN). Among other things, the development of business activity in the last 3 months and the expectation of business activity in the next 3 months are queried. The results are based on monthly data from around 300 retailers. These are published monthly, among other things, for the retail sector as a whole and by selected retail sectors.
