Since 2004, the climate protection initiative klimaaktiv has been promoting the spread of climate-friendly products, services, and practices through a diverse portfolio of measures in voluntary climate protection.

Goals and measures of klimaaktiv

The initiative contributes to quality assurance, competence development, and the creation of favorable conditions. It motivates people to take action by raising awareness and encouraging them to get involved. The klimaaktiv mobil funding program provides additional financial incentives in the mobility sector.

Implementation and focus of the evaluation

The evaluation of the klimaaktiv climate protection initiative took place from March to September of 2024. It aimed to assess the initiative's effectiveness, examine existing processes, and derive prospects for its development until 2030. The evaluation focused on the initiative's impact on partners, its integration into Austrian climate and energy policy, and the promotional effects of Klimaaktiv Mobil.

Methodology and results

The analysis was based on internal documents, 19 qualitative interviews with management experts, an online survey of 389 partner organizations, two case studies, and several workshops. The results were summarized in a SWOT analysis, which led to concrete recommendations for the strategic development of the initiative until 2030.
