Harald Wieser has been working as a researcher and policy evaluator at KMU Forschung Austria since 2020. He also teaches sustainable management and ecological economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. His work focuses on the challenges involved in designing and implementing policy measures for structural change towards a sustainable, environmentally friendly economy.

After studying ecological economics and politics in Vienna and Maastricht, he completed a PhD in innovation management and policy at the University of Manchester. As a trained economist and sociologist, he brings a systemic perspective and a broad repertoire of theories and methods for deriving policy recommendations. His previous positions include research and teaching at EURAC Research in Bolzano, the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the Vienna Chamber of Labor, the Maastricht Sustainability Institute, the University of Manchester, the Fraunhofer Institute in Berlin, and the University of Oxford.
